Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Aging
The Department of Health, Disability and Aging develops national policies and programs to improve the health and wellbeing of Australians. It supports initiatives like the National Strategic Action Plan for Pain Management to enhance pain care services.
Australian College of Nurse Practitioners
The Australian College of Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) is a not-for-profit company which is the national peak body for Nurse Practitioners and Advanced Practice Nurses in Australia. The ACNP is active in advancing nursing practice and improving access to health care. The ACNP mission is to empower Nurse Practitioners & Advanced Practice Nurses to provide expert care to everyone, everywhere. The ACNP has also formally endorsed the OPEN pain training modules.
NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation
The NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) works with clinicians, consumers and system leaders to improve the health system in NSW. They design and implement new ways to deliver care for patients. The ACI partners with the Ministry of Health, pillar organisations, local health districts, specialty networks, clinicians, patients and carers. We work together to achieve better value in healthcare by; improving patient and provider experience, improving patient outcomes and, delivering efficient and sustainable healthcare services. The ACI is part of the Clinical Innovation and Research Division and works closely with the Office for Health and Medical Research.

The Australian Pain Society
The Australian Pain Society is a multidisciplinary association whose purpose is to advance pain management through education, research, and advocacy for transformational improvements in clinical care. The vision of the APS is that “all people will have optimal pain management throughout life.” The APS is a not-for-profit registered charity and was formed in 1979 as the Australian Chapter of the International Association for the study of Pain.
Pain Foundation
The Pain Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to funding research and education in pain management. It primarily supports the Pain Management Research Institute, a joint initiative between the University of Sydney and Royal North Shore Hospital.
Chronic Pain Australia
Chronic Pain Australia (CPA) is the national voice for the 3.6 million Australians living with chronic pain. CPA is a non-profit, non-government registered organisation founded in 2001 and provides a crucial consumer voice to pain in Australia. CPA advocates to reduce the social and economic barriers to those who live with chronic pain.
